More and more I'm finding the chordless trio to be a vehicle for creative expression, in line with that whole "less is more" thing. I've been lucky to play with some incredibly expressive players over the last few years and I've always loved music based in counterpoint - the interplay between two or more melodies and much of this album is brought out by both my colleagues in the rhythm section that shares an inclination to melodic thinking. The first half of my new album "Trio Featuring" highlights the interplay between our three melodic voices.

I have an appreciation for how introducing a new voice can change the trajectory a piece. For me, interaction with not only the other players, but is equally vital between the individual and the music itself. The second half of this album highlights this element of musical interaction with two featured guests.
